marsa niazek

towards the second part of our excursion.

The name of this incredible site is Marsa Nayzak and it was born from the impact of a meteorite. When you look at the crater, you can think of a very special designer, who designed a swimming pool on the edge of the sea. The crater dates back to many years ago, and is the only one of its kind for this area. With closer and closer observation, it is still possible to find the molten rock that surrounds this natural pool

When you jump inside you will find different conditions: the water is crystal clear and, from the surface to about 2m deep, you will find the same temperature as the sea. Below 2 meters, on the other hand, it is much colder and the water temperature partially drops below 15 degrees. However, except for the small individual fish, which have lost their way here, you will find barely observable creatures.

The so-called thermocline, which is found between the different water temperatures of this crater, is probably too strong to be able to offer here a habitat for other animals for other animals.
